Scott Hammell

Friday, January 29, 6p.m., room TBA
Scott Hammell is an entrepreneur and motivational speaker who inspires his audience to “find their passion, and make it happen”. In school, Scott was known for his magic and encouragement from his peers led him to the idea of performing as a permanent career. Scott’s talent soon took him across the country and even down to Barbados to perform. After getting his start as a juggler, magician and escape artist, Scott Hammell shifted his focus towards inspiring others through public speaking. Without having a proper basis for his message, Scott decided to face his fear of heights and set a Guinness World Record for the “World’s Highest Suspension Straight Jacket Escape”. This stunt was featured world wide on the season premier of Ripley’s Believe it or Not and helped launch Scott’s career. Scott has since added two more world records to his long list of accomplishments, and after an extremely inspiring trip to Africa, Scott is now working to incorporate a much more socially and environmentally aware message to his numerous presentations. The same courage needed to sky-dive out of a plane is synonymous to the courage needed to go against social norms and defy ‘business as usual’.
“I started my business by accident. The reason I’m so successful is that I’m passionate about what I do. When young people are given the tools to make their passions a reality, the possibilities are endless.”
