Ann Joyner
Ann Joyner is a Partner with Dillon Consulting Limited and has 25 years of experience in land use and environmental
planning. Dillon is a 750 person employee-owned consulting firm providing services in planning, natural science, water, air and earth sciences and engineering from 14 offices across Canada.

Ann was the Practice Leader for Dillon’s planning and development group for many years, growing the team to 50 planners across Canada. She currently leads business development for the Resource Sector at Dillon and has worked in various communities in Canada as well as overseas in Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. Ann is currently a member of the Dillon Board of Directors and has initiated a range of programs for Dillon including the company’s Corporate Environmental Management Strategy and a program to attract and retain women in Dillon. For many years she taught a range of planning courses at York University in the Faculty of Environmental Studies.

On the project side, Ann has managed a range of significant municipal planning and environmental assessment studies most of which were modeled on environment-first/sustainable development principles. Recent examples include the Hamilton Airport Employment District Secondary Plan which is a 1200 ha new eco-industrial employment area surrounding the Hamilton airport and a number of renewable energy projects (solar). She has also managed a range of sustainable design projects focusing on how municipal plans and guidelines can establish a framework for sustainable communities and neighbourhoods.

Ann is married and has 3 children and lives with her husband on a farm near Port Perry Ontario.
