Dr. John Francis

John Francis, Ph.D., is known the world over as the Planetwalker. In 1971, Dr. Francis witnessed an oil spill in San Francisco Bay. The effects of the spill compelled him to stop using motorized vehicles. Several months later, to stop the arguments about the power of one person's actions, he took a vow of silence. Scott Hammell is an entrepreneur and motivational speaker who inspires his audience to "find their passion, and make it happen". After getting his start as a juggler, magician and escape artist, Scott Hammell shifted his focus towards inspiring others through public speaking. Jon-Erik Lappano is a graduate of York University, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. In 2006, he co-founded New Nature Documentaries, a production company dedicated to making films about environments and cultures in transition. Michelle Holliday is President of Cambium, a consulting firm that helps clients develop the organizational competencies necessary to engage customers and employees in an integral and sustainable manner. Previously, she was Brand Manager for the Coca-Cola brand for Russia, Moldova and Kazakhstan and before that was one of two expatriates responsible for launching HJ Heinz into the former Soviet Union. Prof. Louis Chauvin

Dr. Chauvin joined the Faculty in January 1994 to teach Ethics in Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has also taught Strategies in Sustainable Development and now teaches Business and Society and a new core course, The Social Context of Business, that he designed with Prof. Nelson Phillips. Mark Anto has been working with community based projects for over 10 years, focusing mainly on youth development, the environment and human rights. Mark has worked with Alternatives, CUSO, the Canadian Human Rights Foundation, as has spent several years in Asia and the Caribbean developing projects for local organizations. Ruby is a foremost a visual artist, but recently she has been acting as a freelance consultant to places like Ecoquartier and the Concordia Greenhouse project. She was a green interior designer for Ecoquartier's boutiques and is currently working with the greenhouse at Concordia to rearrange the space for better workflow and designing the handbook/mini courses on greenhouse agriculture for volunteers.
